Meet Maura

Hi, I’m Maura Gorman, owner and artist at Dainty Scripts! I started the business in 2019 after years of making custom signs, paintings, and gifts for family and friends. 

With my background as an elementary and middle school art teacher and MassArt grad, I wanted to create a business that spreads joy through personalized art.

Since having my son in 2023, I’ve stepped back from teaching full-time to focus on my family and growing my business by including wedding illustrations, kids workshops, and murals. 

Dainty Scripts means so much to me—it’s my first baby and a true passion. I love what I do because there’s nothing better than seeing how happy people are when they see artwork on the wall of their baby’s room or receive custom illustrations of their wedding guests!

Dainty Scripts wouldn’t be possible without the help of close family and friends. 

The team includes: Catherine Healy (my cousin & mural side kick!) , Barbara Healy (yup, my mom!), Caroline Keenan, and I need to credit Ryan Gorman (my husband who does so much behind the scenes).

From prepping boards, greeting customers, deliveries, working pop-ups, sourcing supplies, and so much more.  Dainty Scripts could not be where it is today without them!
